How much does this cost?

The only thing that isn’t free is using PLENTITUDE as a trusted middleman in swaps. Creating accounts, browsing art, setting up swaps… every bit of that is 100% zero cost. More art for artists!!!

re these permanent or temporary swaps?

You’re welcome to do either, but we imagine most exchanges will be permanent. If you arrange a temporary swap, it’s on you to sort out the details of swapping back at a later date.

What kind of works can I list?

Pretty much anything — paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics, stained glass, textiles, furniture and even digital art. All we ask is that you made it with your own hands and heart.

What about prints and reproductions?

We definitely lean toward one-of-a-kind artwork at PLENTITUDE, but this is ultimately between the two artists making a swap. Just make sure when you list something for trade, you’re clear if it’s a reproduction.

what about commissions?

Sometimes, you might not have a piece available to swap. Or you might match with someone with a larger/smaller piece than you have available. You are welcome to list example pieces and swap a newly created commission with the other artist, as long as they are aware and excited.

how do we exchange art pieces?

That’s up to you. If you and the other artists are both local, then we suggest an in-person exchange, somewhere interesting like a cafe or museum. If you are located in different cities/states/countries, then you’ll likely need to ship the art to one another.

How do i know that the other artists will send me their art?

We’ll have a member rating system at launch so that you have a better sense of whom you’re swapping with.

Additionally, for a small fee PLENTITUDE will act as an intermediary, sending both pieces on when they are received.

Do you vet the artists who list works here?

We do not. We have a few suggestions to ensure your swap doesn’t end in tragedy:

Don’t trade anything you would be heartbroken to lose.
Trade with local artists so that you can meet in person and ensure the art advertised is the art swapped.
Let PLENTITUDE hold both pieces in escrow and verify what was promised is what was delivered.
